JOB TITLE: Senior Project Quantity Surveyor REFERENCE: 4257 JOB DESCRIPTION
Our client is steadily expanding their business in the UK construction market. Their current client base includes a global provider of consulting, engineering and construction services. They have an opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor based in the West London/Oxford area with travel to other sites within the UK periodically throughout the year.
This is a leading role within a progressing team and has responsibility for:-
Management of the commercial resources and activities on a specified number of projects ensuring that procedures, processes and contractual requirements are fully complied with. Operating as the commercial focal point for the specified projects and reporting to the appropriate Project Manager as a member of the delivery team. Interpreting and understanding the respective obligations, responsibilities and liabilities of the parties to the contract, and providing advice/guidance to the delivery team and client, as appropriate. This shall include the effective administration of the contract, from start-up to completion. Taking responsibility, with the Project Manager, for the preparation and production of all agreed reports to predetermined deadlines (including those required contractually by the contract or requested by senior management). Maintaining a good relationship with the client and exceeding expectations Attending site meetings and participating in problem solving. Taking responsibility for the production of all necessary documentation in relation to the resolution of problems: be they commercial; contractual or construction related issues.
Additional Requirements:-
Quantity Surveying related degree, HND or HNC. RICS or ICES membership desirable. Previous experience working for a contractor within the civil engineering or water industry. Experience in management of: Target costs; subcontract accounts; procurement schedules; subcontract procurement; cost control; variations / CES; contractual claims and dispute resolution. Familiar with NEC and IChemE forms of contract. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent negotiation skills. IT literacy
