My client is a leading INFRASTRUCTURE / CONSTRUCTION company based in the heart of BRISTOL. The type of business it deals with includes; infrastructure, business services, new builds, civil & highways. This department is highly involved with reducing the risks of delays on its roads, upgrading the rail infrasture, highways and delivering new urban transport systems. They deal with city, regional and national organizations to provide the reliable, affordable infrastructure on which economic success depends upon & are brand leaders in there profession.

The company is involved from the very start in major road projects and partner with some major highways agencies to ensure value for money.  They support major motorways & highways to provide routine and cyclical maintenance and incident support to make roads safer and more reliable.

Due to new & exciting contracts gained locally within this sector it is now recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor with its Civil/ Highway department within the Bristol & surrounding area. The role attracts a salary of £25-30k + excellent benefits (including health care, pension, life assurance & long holidays. • Must be part qualified professional and have certificates within this sector (or have other relevant qualifications relating to this sector)
• Must have extensive experience as a QUANTITY SURVEYOR within highways/ civil sector
• Must have experience in dealing with project/ senior QS's for commercial aspects relating to the highway industry
• Must have experience in dealing with supply chains relating to procurement of supplier's / sub contractors.
• Must be able to supervise a small team
• Must be able to assist less experienced staff
• Must have previous experience of performance reviews and able to recommend training requirements for staff with needs
• The QS must have experience of reducing costs and working with budgets and looking at ways to do things cheaper
• Must be able to interact with clients to build long term relationships
• Must have previous experience of sundry accounts
• Must be able to assist in the production of project value enhancement plans & project procurement strategy documents
