- Commercial experience preferably in a MOD maintenance or contract environment
- Customer focused
- Proven track record of delivery and managing tight deadlines
- Excellent communicator with ability to communicate commercial information to non-commercial colleagues
This is a post that would benefit and suit a Commercialy aware Quantity Surveyor happy to be part of the Senior Management Team, producing reports and presenting at board level.

An opportunity exists for a commercial manager with excellent communication skills to manage all commercial and profitability aspects of a major account within the Defence sector. The successful applicant will have a base at one site within the South West Prime Contract, but will be expected to spend a significant amount of time at each of the contract locations depending on operational requirements. You will manage a QS and support the Account Director. In addition you will be expected to contribute commercial expertise that will have a direct influence on the commercial performance of the business with particular emphasis on contract profitability. A natural communicator you will relish the opportunity to build close relationships with the business.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
|
- Establish and manage relationships with the Finance Manager to enable accurate and timely reports on contract performance, profitability and comparisons with budgets to be produced
- Analysis of the results to highlight risks and opportunities to improve profitability
- Implementation of actions to improve performance and assist in the development of new processes and procedures
- Production of account specific sales and GP reports and outturn forecasts to support the account Director
- Identify, produce and agree contract changes and variations on a monthly basis
- Manage the contract QS
- Support and lead commercial negotiations with the client's commercial team
- Manage and resolve commercial disputes
- Building strong and influential relationships with the business and it's clients by providing an added value service
